“We like this view so much, let’s not obscure it with anything,” the customers told designer Alyona Yudina. That, in fact, is where it all started.

“The first and most spectacular thing I saw when I entered the apartment was the view from the windows,” says Alyona Yudina. “Huge floor-to-ceiling windows let the garden into the concrete, empty space at that time, and it looked like a big photo on the wall.”

The view from the windows conquered not only the designer, but also the owner of the apartment — because of this view, he bought it, and for a long time he selected the floor taking into account the height of the trees. He wanted not to look at them from above, but to see them in front of him. All the time, in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening, to see in front of you not a city, not high-rise buildings, but a garden, beautiful in any weather. Actually, many people would like this, but some manage to make their dream come true.

Since the garden was the main one, the conversation revolved around it all the time. The customers immediately told Alyona that they really liked the view from the windows: “Let’s not obscure him with anything.”

And then a lot went from denial, from what should not be in this apartment with windows to the garden. There shouldn’t have been a lot of furniture in it — only the most necessary things, which you can’t do without. There should be no decor, no visual noise at all. Everything is quiet, calm, unobtrusive.

“And everything turned out so well during the redevelopment,” recalls Alyona. We decided to give the most basic and valuable view to the living room. The office windows overlook the other side and look at the more dynamic part of the block, which is quite logical. And the rooms of the private block look at the street with houses of the private sector, with apple trees in the courtyards.

Alyona decided to support the apple theme in the interior: at the entrance to the apartment, you can see the work of the Kiev photographer Vitaly Melnikov, and another one in the office. They have exactly the same apple trees in different angles and interpretations.

The colors of nature and natural materials, primarily wood, balance the stainless steel, quartzite, glass and concrete used in the decoration. The capital walls were left in concrete, as Alyona says, “it was a pity to hide it behind drywall”” Concrete appears in every room, but it is not brutal here, but very gentle and airy.

In the private part of the apartment there is a bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom. The transition between them is formed along the high stained glass windows in the floor, this gives a beautiful light tunnel.Photo: Andrey Avdeenko

What is the main thing in this project? According to the designer — the mood. “When you get here, your condition changes. Peace and tranquility seem to be poured inside and transmitted to you. I want to go into the living room and take a deep breath. Because there is a garden around””
