The experimental restaurant from Lucky Group T1 is a place that has no analogues on the metropolitan gastronomic map yet. T1 is rather not a restaurant, but a gastronomic laboratory where you can taste the dishes of chefs from all over the world. The sets from the invited chefs are updated once a month, but there is also an à la carte menu, which was compiled by chef Nikita Rendino.

The basis of T1 philosophy is hospitality. The waiters will not just read you the items from the menu, but will tell you interesting stories about the dishes and the process of their preparation. Lamb Restaurant

Bolshaya Gruzinskaya is replenished with new establishments almost every month, and the Lamb meat restaurant is one of them. The entire menu is dedicated to meat, and chef Nikolai Nikitinsky (Bottega Siciliana, “Foreigners”, Beluga) is responsible for the cuisine. The interior of the establishment supports the theme: subdued light, rough materials and focus on gastronomy. The menu includes tartars, tacos and an extensive part with hot dishes, including, for example, a diaphragm with Japanese rice, pork tonkatsu and steaks.

Onest Restaurant

Arkady Novikov’s new Italian restaurant, Onest, has opened on Malaya Bronnaya. Alina Pimkina-Merle, Ilya Mozgunov and Julien Albertini from the Asthetique bureau worked on the interior. They created a calm and sensual interior with a variety of textures and delicate shades of white. The menu is small, but verified: several types of snacks, pastes and hot and an inviting dessert card with mysterious names.

Lila

The Lila space is one of the most long-awaited discoveries of 2021. The mansion on Sretenka houses five GT.Group projects at once: the gourmet restaurant Lila Restaurant, Lila Asia with pan-Asian cuisine, the confectionery Lila Pastry, the Insider bar and the pop-up space on the roof. The newest project — Lila Restaurant – opened recently, on November 18, 2021.

Evgenia Uzhegova, a designer with an impressive portfolio of restaurant interiors, was responsible for the design of all establishments. Among the most striking works of Evgenia are the spaces Lola, Eva, 13, Niki and Share. The designer herself says that you need to go around the mansion as if on a journey, moving through the halls and getting acquainted with different cuisines and formats. Lila Asia is an allegory to the Earth before the beginning of time, Lila Pastry is a reference to the Neolithic era, and Insider is the embodiment of the bar “from the future”.

Separately, it is worth telling about the Insider bar, which in just a year of work won the 13th place in the world’s 50 Best Bars and the hearts of all fans of cocktail craft. The philosophy of the bar has three main principles: innovation, hospitality and connection with nature. Lila Space on Sretenkechit

Artest

The owner of two Michelin stars, the Artest restaurant is a project of Arkady Novikov, which opened in the middle of last summer. For interior decoration, the restaurateur invited designers from the Veter team, Eleonora Pimenova and Ekaterina Serykh, and asked them to create “two different worlds” from a two-story space. So, on the ground floor, guests find themselves in a “dark world” with textured walls and rich earth tones. The second floor is a “light world”: there the designers tried to make the interior as airy and light as possible, using only light shades in the decoration and furniture.

But the jury members praised Artest not so much for the interior as for the kitchen — it is headed by chef Artem Estafyev in the restaurant. The dishes are based on local ingredients and modern cooking techniques, such as fermentation. Of course, the number of people who want to visit the restaurant after receiving two Michelin stars is growing exponentially, so we recommend booking a table in advance.

Artest Restaurant in Trubnikovsky Lane Read

Muse

Muse is a new project by Alexander Oganezov, which opened on Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street at the end of November 2021. Chef Ruslan Polyakov adapted our favorite dishes from Remy Kitchen Bakery and Pino restaurants, diversifying them with a new section with Indian cuisine. One of the distinctive features of the restaurant is the serving of desserts: in Muse they are taken out on a special cart so that guests can examine the dish before ordering.

The warm and cozy interior designed by Evgenia Uzhegova immediately lifts the mood on cold cloudy weekdays. There is nothing superfluous in the design of the restaurant — only laconic furniture, pleasant textiles and unobtrusive contrasting art on the walls. In general, nothing distracts from the gastronomic impressions.

Sage

Dmitry Blinov from Duoband gastro holding has teamed up with restaurateur Vladimir Perelman to bring some “St. Petersburg gastronomic culture” to Moscow. This is how the Sage restaurant appeared — the capital’s interpretation of the famous Harvest in St. Petersburg.

According to tradition, designer Alexey Penyuk was responsible for the interior, who brought warm Scandinavian minimalism to the space: soft shapes, natural beige colors and natural materials. When going to a restaurant, pay attention not only to the interiors, but also to the uniform of the employees — it was developed by the Ushatáva brand specifically for the institution.

The menu focuses on rotisserie – meat cooked on a spit in an open oven. The aromas from the kitchen echo the restaurant’s signature perfume, created by Windsor’s Soap— – sage was symbolically put on the basis of the fragrance (this is how the name Sage is translated from English). It is also found on the menu: guests can try confit potatoes with tomatoes, garlic and sage, ravioli with duck and sage, or lamb shoulder with shallots and mashed potatoes with sage.

The new Sundukovy Sisters project sends the guests of the restaurant not for one, but for two whole epochs back — either to France, or to England at the end of the XIX century. Light textured columns, plaster reliefs and carved wooden panels framing the windows create a romantic atmosphere. The restaurant uses the concept of an open kitchen, beloved by the capital’s restaurateurs, so that the designers designed the space so that you could watch the cooking from almost any corner.

The authors of the project themselves define the institution as a “near-pub restaurant”, so they tried to create a menu in a special “elegant” way. Chef Alexander Shtepa harmoniously combines meat and fish with fruits and vegetables (sea bass with gooseberries, duck leg with blueberries). Sigma

“Uniqueness in everything” – as it seems to us, the motto of the Sigma restaurant should sound according to the project of Yulia Sukhareva. It all started with architecture: together with the owner of the institution, Hovhannes Poghosyan, the designer was thinking about how to create an atmosphere of Paris train stations in the institution with a touch of antiquity from Ancient Greece. It was decided to invite sculptors who decorated the reinforced concrete polls with carved heads of the god of winemaking Dionysus — so the Moscow industrial building turned into an unusual restaurant with a mixture of French and Greek culture.

All the decor elements were created to order specifically for this project, with the exception of chairs and vintage items – although the latter are also unique in their kind. Many elements have their own history: for example, the bar counter is made of glass pipes that once served at the Crimean winery.

When developing the menu, chef Artem Tsykov did not focus on the cuisine of specific countries, but diversified the assortment with dishes familiar to the Moscow visitor: there are herring under a fur coat, sauerkraut soup with beef rib, and popsicle with blueberries. Russian cuisine is harmoniously combined with more European and Oriental dishes: creamy risotto with fried scallop, miso soup with Kamchatka crab and Sigma burger with truffle.

For those who miss France: Grace restaurant opened on Spiridonovka last summer, decorated in the spirit of brasserie designed by Natalia Belonogova. French motifs are added to the interior by aged ceiling and walls, wooden partitions with mirror windows, round tables with brass frames and incredible floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the maximum amount of natural light into the space.

Restaurant by Deep Fried Friends

In honor of their upcoming 10th anniversary, the creative association Deep Fried Friends (Ivan Popov, Alexey Morozov, Marko Mikhich-Eftich, Artur Semkov and Denis Kryazhev) decided to open their own space. A restaurant and a bar are combined under one roof, so that on weekends after a quiet dinner you can smoothly move to dancing in the next room.

The authors of the project did not chase a new audience, but, on the contrary, devoted the space to loyal visitors who already know Deep Fried Friends from bright parties. Therefore, there are many references to the past in the interior: for example, details with branded merchandise and a pink toilet like neon signs on the legendary DFF veranda. The menu from the brand chef Anton Kovalkov (“Beluga”) is simple and understandable, but with unusual taste combinations – as for the grown-up audience who migrated from “Simachev” and “Strelka”.

Niki in the “Artistic”

The Niki restaurant of Russian cuisine is not just an addition to the recently opened after reconstruction cinema “Art”, but a full-fledged and self-sufficient space from the Lucky Group restaurant group. Continuing the theme of architecture of the early XX century, designer Evgenia Uzhegova added many elements of Art Deco of the Shechtel era to the interior: a graphic ceiling, an impressive vintage chandelier, a bar with fascinating stained glass windows. The name was also chosen not by chance: that’s what his wife Alexandra Feodorovna called the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II.

In order not to forget that the XXI century is outside the window, Evgenia Uzhegova has diluted the interior with modern elements: steel wine cabinets, a strict laconic mirror and works by artist Valeria Popova. And the tables are decorated with vintage vases from the 60s and 80s — as a result, the feeling of a particular era completely dissolves in space.

The kitchen is run by Dana Miron and chef Alexander Shuba, who have tried to read the famous Soviet dishes in a new way. HES-2

Following the main exhibition space, the HES-2 restaurant opened its doors at the end of December — it is as bright, spacious and concise as the entire House of Culture. The brand chef was Italian Emanuele Pollini, who previously worked in restaurants in Italy, New Zealand and the Basque country, marked with Michelin stars.

Without changing the concept of conscious consumption, plates made of recycled glass and Japanese suzugami – metal plates that are folded like origami for dishes of different sizes — were chosen for serving at GES-2. Visitors can taste Emanuele Pollini’s experimental cuisine in the restaurant with a special emphasis on vegetables and herbs, as well as rare wines for Russian establishments.

Drunk Delon Bar

One of the features of Drunk Delon designed by KIDZ studio is the ability to easily transform from a cozy bar with a low landing into a noisy club for dancing on weekends. The fact that Drunk Delon is a place not only for relaxing in the evening with friends, but also for dancing until the morning, is reminiscent of the saturated blue accents in the interior – an allusion to nightclubs in Berlin. The “Drunk” in the name of the bar can also be traced in the interior — bright neon lighting and a soft metal panel behind the bar literally “double” in the eyes, creating a feeling of slight intoxication among visitors.

Most of the bar menu consists of drinks from France: local cider, absinthe, calvados and cocktails based on them. Touch Chef’s Place & Bar

More and more Moscow restaurants are returning to the concept of “organic farm cuisine”, and the new Touch Chef’s Place & The bar on Sadovnicheskaya Embankment is no exception. It seems that the brand chef Nikita Kuzmenko creates dishes from everything that grows on the lands of Russia: on the menu you can find Murmansk hedgehog with ice cream from boletus, Kamchatka crab with watermelon radish and nelma tartare with sorrel.

Of course, such a menu offers an extensive wine list of more than 200 labels, which was created by chef-sommelier Vlad Markin (La Marée, “Technicum”, Mushrooms, Sartoria Lamberti). And for those who prefer stronger drinks, the chef-bartender Vasily Zheglov (Asiatique Kitchen & Bar, Community Moscow) has developed an author’s collection of cocktails. Letters Cafe

November 2021 was rich in gastronomic discoveries: at the end of autumn on Sadovaya-Sukharevskaya, 10/12, the Letters cafe, located in the bookstore of the publishing house “Polyandria”, started working. The new space was occupied by a small apartment house in the style of romantic Art Nouveau called Manor, better known as the ”House with ears”.

Ilya Gulyants was responsible for the interior design of the establishment: thanks to the use of a large number of tactile objects made of natural materials, the designer managed to create a truly cozy atmosphere in the cafe. The central element of the interior was a massive oak table, harmoniously combined with the Zieta mirror on the wall and surrounded by minimalist chairs of Scandinavian brands.

Nika Alekseeva, an international coach of Speciality Coffee Association and the chief judge of the national barista championship, helped to think over the coffee card. The menu includes three varieties of its own roasting, author’s drinks for coffee and a fairly classic set of desserts, from cookies to mini cupcakes and rum baba.

“Coffee Mania” in the Arcus Business Park

Each point of the Coffeemania chain is not like the others, but the new cafe in the Arcus business park is radically different. Firstly, it is one of the largest establishments of the chain — it occupies two floors. Secondly, designers from Studio APAA, led by Alexey Penyuk, worked on the interior, who were able to create a cozy atmosphere of Scandinavian minimalism in the cafe. Although the status of “cafe” has definitely outgrown the new “Coffee mania”: in the bar card of the new establishment there are as many as 50 positions of sparkling wines selected by brand sommelier Galina Budnikova.

The designers tried to recreate the image of a “private country residence” in the institution: so in the interior there was furniture made of natural wood of famous brands, a wall panel made of raw cotton, a lot of green plants and a fireplace in the center of the hall.

Maya Restaurant

Another novelty from Lucky Group is Maya restaurant on Bolshaya Nikitskaya. Natalia Belonogova worked on the interior again. Her task was to reflect in space the spirit of the culture of the indigenous peoples of Africa. The restaurant has a wine room, a savannah lounge, two bars and an outdoor dessert station. Chef Thomas Hollin, whose portfolio includes the legendary Noma restaurant, worked on the menu. Thomas traveled a lot around the world, studied different cultures and brought to Russia everything he saw in Central and Latin America, Europe and Asia. “Grapes hung overnight over hot coals are served with strachatella and lemon. Carabineros shrimp are grilled with steaming rosemary and juniper branches. The chicken is cooked in a metal cage over the fire for three hours and served with sweet garlic and black truffle”” Lucky Group representatives share details with us.

Lumicino Restaurant

Last week, Bolshaya Nikitskaya was replenished with another institution: William Lamberti’s Italian restaurant Lumicino was opened. The restaurateur positions the new place as a family restaurant, in which Lamberti collected dishes according to “non-random” recipes — each of them is associated with some period of William’s life. The chef of Sartoria Lamberti Vladimir Shchepilov is responsible for the kitchen. The menu features Italian classics from an unusual angle.
