It is no coincidence that the designers of the Argento Style bureau filled this interior with objects of organic form: the house, surrounded by a forest, became a continuation of the natural landscape.

The customers of Svetlana Evdokimova and Yegor Guslyakov — a young family, passionate about design and traditional crafts – dreamed of a minimalist house made of glued beams with a spacious terrace and a flat roof. The couple completely trusted the professionals: almost everything was agreed online due to the first wave of the pandemic, and the construction and landscaping work was completed in just a year and a half. The request of the customers, according to Svetlana, sounded quite traditional, but the designers managed to offer a fresh interpretation of a modern wooden house.

It is based on the concept of bionic and ”tactile” design. The overall color scheme, inspired by shades of white clay, creates a monochrome background for organic-shaped interior items. The most difficult thing was to choose the right tone for painting the timber: it was necessary to preserve the structure of the tree, and in order to “dial” the right shade, the paint was put in three layers. ”I was really impressed with the work with wood: I found that after applying and soaking into the array, the color of the paint changes,” says Svetlana.

The authors of the project say that initially it was planned to fill the interior more simply, but in the process they got carried away with the selection of collectible design and vintage items. The unifying motif was the shape of the circle, which Svetlana considers “the most universal of all geometric figures, a symbol of wholeness, unity and totality, completeness and limitation, constancy and cyclicity, eternity and infinity.” For example, a round window in the bathroom became a special pride of customers, which the designers supplemented with perforated shutters: in addition to creating an interesting decorative effect, this technique made it possible to lighten the weight of the shutters.

The interior reflects the love of the owners of the house for handicraft items and techniques. So, a fireplace lined with clay tiles was installed in the living room, and an original table created by the Argento Style workshop in collaboration with the Latvian glass artist Anda Munkevica took the central place in this area. The legs of different diameters are inspired by the rhythm of the forest environment, and the table top is made of thick molten glass, repeating the texture of the bark of linden and oak, thus symbolically conveying the connection of the masculine and feminine.

In the lobby, from which you can get to private areas, the place of honor was taken by the work of Kabardino-Balkarian artist Ruslan Mazloev, who revived the ancient art of weaving Adyghe mats. “The design objects allow us to show how bionics penetrates into the living space,” says Svetlana. — And it seems to me that the search related to the filling of this interior is not over yet””
