The employees of this office under the Alexander Kozlov Interiors project are lucky: they are surrounded by contemporary art, and this has a positive effect on their mood and even on their approach to work.

Even before contacting Alexander Kozlov and Anastasia Grateful from the Alexander Kozlov Interiors bureau, the owner of this office in Izhevsk decided that the future space should make an impression. He owns a large corporation, one of the activities of which is construction. Therefore, the last floor of one of the new complexes with high ceilings and a stunning circular panorama was allocated for the office. “There is no accounting or finance department here, and this affected the design: I didn’t have to cut the space into small cells,” says Alexander. There are only executive offices and meeting rooms, as well as spacious and spectacular reception areas, waiting rooms and an elevator lobby.

The design concept was not approved immediately. What we see in the photos is the fourth option. “What kind of office was this: completely in oak, and gray, and even in yellow lacquer panels with black layouts,” recalls Kozlov. — As a result, we decided that since the company has so many different areas of activity, then the space should be like an architect’s or designer’s house – white, like a blank sheet of paper, from which everything usually starts. And since there is no usual office fuss, then you can fill the interior with works of art and sculptures””

Visitors are immediately impressed: in the lobby they are greeted by a huge plaster panel, a bright sofa and iconic designer armchairs. Black blinds, dark contrasting details, marble floors and walls are responsible for the office rigor in this interior. This laconic design allowed us to focus on architecture. The ceiling height was not preserved everywhere: it was necessary to hide the air conditioning and fire extinguishing systems mandatory for public places. However, the resulting caissons only added classical elegance to the spaces. But the appearance of wooden parquet, curtains, wool and velour upholstered furniture and silk carpets brought a touch of home comfort. In the office of the head of the corporation, this game of contrasts is especially obvious. He has the largest block, which consists of an office divided into a work area, designed in warm colors, and a “cold” meeting room. Also, its block includes a space for relaxation, a dressing room and a bathroom. There is another curious corner there – with a high marble table and chairs. This is a special place for assistants who bring papers to the head for signature so that they do not have to stand at the door.

Alexander and his team managed to create not just a representative office, but a luxurious space in which it is pleasant to work and even just to be. In the first months after the move, the owner of the corporation took tours here, showing everyone the result. And the pilgrimage does not end until now. “Employees from the lower floors come here to take pictures—” adds Alexander Kozlov cheerfully. — We continue to communicate with the customer, and I am pleased to realize how comfortable and organic everyone feels here. They say that things are going great for them and they are already used to working in a museum.”
